You can batch capture from a specific timecode to a specific timecode. Just click on the Advanced Capture tab.

Yes you can go to properties, Capture, and set MAXIMUM CAPTURE LENGTH
And it will then stop after the time alloted,
If still no use try http://scenalyzer.com/

The great capture application, Scenalyzer (a.k.a. ScLive), does exactly what you want. It can also start the capture when you want (like a VCR). It does time lapse capture, stop motion capture, very interesting batch catpure (without needing continuous timecode on the tape), simply print to tape of multiple files, and much more. Check it out at:

Thanks! I'll give them all a try.

Does anyone have any experience using Scenalyzer with a Canopus ADVC-100?

I looked at Scenealyzer and it does not seem to support timed capture from your IEEE1394...at least the version I downloaded required me to have a tv-tuner card. Anytime I want TV stuff, I patch it thru my DV from my VCR...so...I too would like to know if there's a way to have Vegas vidcap program start & stop at a specific time.
