Timelapse!?

Hey everyone,

Here's what I need to do...

I need to hook up my DV camera to the computer via Firewire, and capture images to the HD through vegas - but at a specified time interval - effectively creating a timelapse movie.

Is there a script out there that will allow me to enter a time interval (say, every minute), and automatically save an image to the HD of what the video feed is seeing?

Try Scenalyzer Live to capture.

Scripting cannot affect Vegas capture

Scenalyzer is definitely the way to go. Check it out here:

ACTUALLY I JUST found a script in vegas that will do precisely what you want.

Yeah, that's my script, but I didn't think it would help this guy. He was looking for something to help capture the video for time lapse. My script is for after the capture to let you take those one second "time lapse" captures that many camcorders allow, and strip out just one frame from each one. This gives you true time lapse. You can then use Vegas to speed up or slow down the result. However, the only way to do perfect time lapse is with a tool that will let you capture 1 out of every "n" frames, and this is what Scenalyzer does (and does well).
