Timeline overshooting

When I finish the project, I find that the cursor is overshooting the end of the project, i.e the end of the last event by about 3 seconds. I thoroughly checked there is no splinter events to attract the cursor. When I am rendering the project, that 3 seconds is coming as a black screen. How can I get rid of the overshooting of the cursor beyond the last event ? Any suggestion ?

Try zooming all the way into the timeline so that you can see each frame. You may have an extra frame ~3 seconds past where you think the project ends.

The easiest thing to do is to hit the "end of project" button, the two right-facing triangles, to position the cursor where Vegas thinks the end of the last event is. When you're there, hold the up arrow down until Vegas stops zooming in. If you still don't see anything, drag a selection from just after the last event until after that 3 second point and press the Delete key just to be sure.

It's also possible that you've got a selection region set including those last three seconds and you're rendering with the "selection region only" set.

I hit the "end of project" button. The cursor goes exactly where I know the end is. But when I hit the play button it goes 3 seconds beyond that. Is there anything to do with the "set-up" or "option" ?

I've always had the cursor continue on when playing the timelilne. I don't think I've noticed that "extra" time on a render ... but then I've never really looked.

If Vegas places the cursor at the right spot for "end of project" and you do get extra blank time in the render then the only explanation is that you have a loop region set that includes those extra three seconds and you're rendering with "loop region only" enabled.
