According to the latest Vegas GPU Architecture info page, timeline playback is better with an AMD Radeon or FirePro graphics card, yet Encode performance is better with nVidia Cuda technology.
I'm more than a little puzzled by this information and wanted to ask the more experienced Vegas users if they have any insights into this. Has anyone seen a difference in performance or stability using one over the other? Still on a Q9400 CPU with 8GB RAM but I'm using an nVidia GT-220 card which has been lackluster at best - especially with PPro. PPro doesn't support AMD for MPE, but I'm still struggling - even over a year later with using it to edit my projects since I'm a one man ban shooter/editor. I still can't fully wrap my head around Adobe's product and it's workflow - it still doesn't make sense to me, let alone having to edit audio outside in Audition which is a kludge IMO.
Thanks,
Cliff
