Hi, Has anybody used Miranda DV to SDI Converter & tried to make a Master Tape with Timeline TC????

(Using DV TC to 422 TC Deck control)

I explain. If I make a timeline with corrosponding TC requirement of an broadcast Tape in SDI Forma, and when I do Print to Tape will 422 deck print
the timeline as per Vegas Timeline>>>>

I need to confirm this from this forum before I decide to make purchase from Miranda. Their tech supports is as bad or good as SONY's.

Looking forward to answers

We have a Miranda DV bridge and yes I believe it does bring the TC from the SDI port into DV and the other way around as well. There is some oddity with the audio, we also have a little box called a picolink from Miranda to strip out the embedded audio to AES/EBU.
I'm not certain if Miranda make two models of the DV bridge or if they upgraded the one model but certainly there's one of them that doesn't do the TC thing right so we're selling it off.
If you have a deck with 422 control then the bridge will give convert the control info from DV to 422 as well.
The only issue we seem to have had with the unit is going analogue to DV, seems it doesn't have a TBC so for dodgy SP material we're getting better milage out of the ADVC-300 (no machine control though).

Thanks for the info.
But what if for Analog to DV we use TBC corrected Video?? Say from PVW or BVW decks??? Will it give DV with TC of 422 Deck?? & Vice Versa???
Same for SDI decks???
Audio we shall look at Miranda Site or may be you could inform the model??
DV audio to AES/EBU Converter. Right?? By seperating will there be any delay or sync problem in Drama program??

No sync problems with the audio.
I'm back in the 'office' tomorrow, I'll see what I can find out about using it hooked up to say a UVW1800 and UVW 75. The later has SDI so should be fine, just don't know about the LTC out of the UVW 1800 going through the Miranda.
Going through an external TBC could cause a few frames delay but it'll be a fixed delay so easy enough to fix, most likely so small you'll never notice it.

If you're going analogue to DV using the DV bridge then you'll need a different model of the Miranda. Don't have one but believe it'll accept LTC from / to the deck.
