There are two ways that I know to do this:

First: the easiest way is to Left Justify everything and just add spaces to the left of the first line to move it over to where you want it.

Second: Add a second text box *over* the first (on a higher track) This second box must have a transparent background. Then you can center justify on the top box and left justify on the bottom box.

It's not elegant but it should work.

Yes, Vegas should be able to combine justification .. and things like different color text in the same text box.

You can do like that using the Credit Roll instead and setting the Effect to Timed Sequence.

The Credit Roll can do different colours as well.

Don't have VMS in front of me so I'm guessing here, but I know you can set text to different fonts & sizes within the same text event (by selecting each different line then making the change), so I would think you could set different justifications on different lines within the same text event in a similar way. But if not, then simply create different text events and set justification on each. Not too painful.
