I'll give you an example and you figure out how to change it and make what you want.

In "Text & Backdrops" select "Color Gradient" then "Linear Red Green & Blue"
Drag this to Video Overlay track
Event properties will appear. - To return to this window Click on the FX button of the Linear Red Green & Blue
In Controls Points - select the numbers in the 1,2,3 and adjust the colors you want.
Select End
In Controls points grab circle #3 and spin it around about 5 fives
Select 1,2,3 and select different colors
Select Gradient type - change it to Eliptical
You can always return and change colors and settings later,
making it spin gives it a cool effect
Close

In "Text & Backdrops" select Text
Drag Default text to the Text track
Change Sample Text to your title name
Close
Go to Transitions select Spiral
drag this to the beginning of the Text
grab the right side of the spiral and make it longer

Play in a loop
Change each setting and watch how it affects it.
Have fun

Thanks so much--this works great. Another question though, is it possible to have a picture inserted into the same title page?

I would like to have a picture in the middle of the frame and have the effects around the perimeter of the picture---it would look very similar to the effect that you see when Tim Russert does an interview on "Meet the Press" on NBC. The video frame is in the middle of the effect--the video is partially shrunken.

I hope this all makes sense--thanks much.

Save As (a new project) to protect the original
Now play with the copy
Try the Video FX - Cookie Cutter - Picture in Picture
Drop this onto your video
Change shape from rectangle to oval
Change center X and Center Y to .5
Change border to 0.0
Change feather to .25
Adjust size to what you like
Play this in a loop while you experiment
Try repeat X and repeat Y

You can change opacity levels of each video track by gabbing the small blue triangles in the corners of the clip and drag them downward, then grab the blue line and adjust it. this allows your video to fade in and fade out.

Save as (a new project) and experiment with everything that is availalbe and see what happens
