Titler Pro 7 freezing up Vegas 20

Roger Bansemer wrote on 11/29/2022, 7:57 AM

I'm using Titler Pro 7 with Vegas 20 subscription and since I purchased it, 90% of the time Titler locks up Vegas tight where I have to do a ctrl-alt-del.

I've been in touch with NewBlue but so with no solution. Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? Anther clue is that with Vegas 19, Titler Pro 7 works.

I was thinking about buying Titler Pro 7 for £74 but looking at many posts it looks too unstable. I have Titler Pro 4 which works OK with V20.

(Intel 3rd gen i5@4.1GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, 1080Ti GPU, Windows 10) Not now used with Vegas.

Using TP7 and have no problems with it either integrated (plugin) in Vegas or as a standalone. It does take a moment or two to load the library. Also, at least with the last version of TP7, it was finicky with AMD graphics drivers. I'd get a "white screen of death" with it. Now, no problems.

If it works as a standalone, it will work in Vegas. There has been an update to it, version 7.8 Build 221114. Media Generator is in the second image.

I use Titler 7, latest version Vegas 20 214. If I have a pretty big title with lots of layers and lot of animations it takes a long time from the time I click the green check until control returns to Vegas. It'll grey out sometimes for five or so minutes. I just go grab a coffee and come back. Performance is definitely poor. Not sure how long you are waiting but might try waiting it out some. Once I've done it once, successive edits seem to return control much quicker.

I do have the most recent version and still the same issues.

It's interesting to know others are having the same problems. I have tried waiting it out many times and sometimes it comes around and other times it doesn't no matter how long I might wait. It really isn't a feasible program if you have to wait 5 minutes to get a title which when it works is sometimes the case with me as well.

Oh I'm with you but welcome to modern Vegas where you have to continually find workarounds for all the issues. Post up if you get response from NewBlue. If you go into Task manger while it's hanging, right click the Title process and select > Create dump file. Now send that to the New Blue folks and maybe they can help.

Yes, TP7 can take a while to render out what you are doing. The play button in TP7 preview will have a progressive green circle around it as it's being processed.

So, it's best to wait until it's done. If it's used as a Media Generator, you can do it outside of Vegas with TP7, save it, and drag it to your timeline when you finish Exporting it out as a Movie file.

So you can continue to edit in Vegas while TP7 does it's thing. And no, it isn't a "workaround". You can wait for things to be done in Vegas if you want... this just speeds up things for editing.

As far as I can remember, TP7 builds caching files for each title in the title list. These files are built when you click the green check mark and they are saved to disk. The Vegas UI is prevented from opening until the TP7 UI exits, and this isn't until all the caching files have been built and saved. If you have a lot of titles in the title list and these titles have a lot of effects applied, depending on your system, it can take a long time for this to happen. So, it's not the fault of Vegas, it's the way TP7 works, so that there's no delay playing the titles on the Vegas timeline.

When I log onto my NewBlue account, I only see up to TP7 Ultimate version 7.8.221111. The NewBlue App Manager tells me I am current.. What am I missing?

It looks like you have build 221114 installed which would be newer than 221111 so, yes, you should be current.

I have 221111 and cannot find 221114 on their website under the updates.

When I click on Windows for Release Date Nov 11 2022 it downloads 221111. NewBlueTitlerPro7Ultimate-221111.exe

However @Reyfox signature states they have a Windows PC.
