The scrolling tool is not good for even mildly fancy typography. But you can redefine the four "styles" to a point. However, you'll get more freedom with the text generator, like jetdv said. You can vary the point size within one text event, but the other properties, like shadow, colour etc. applies to the whole event. So you can make several events. As many as you wish.
