Titling

Just got my Vegas4DVD. I am learning how to edit as fast as I can. So far very impressed with the video quality and ease of puttting clips together and adding music. But I need your help with adding titles, for example location names or names of people on the lower part of the screen. Good links to tutorials would help also on titling.

Thanks

Check out the Media Generator / Text Media. You can use this to add text to your video. Try using the transparent background preset first (the one with the checkerboard background). The one tricky thing that isn't obvious at first is that you should place the text event on a separate track above the video tracks; the video on the lower tracks will show through around the text. If you put the text on the same track as the video then you'll only have the black background around the text.

Go to your INSERT tab on the tool bar...select Text Media
OR
Right Click the timeline area where you want to add text...select insert text media

a window appears with sample text...just type over it with what you want to say....NOTE... the area for selecting font (as a pull down) size and style...
then note the options bar: Edit (where you start), Placement to position in the screen, properties and effects for drop shadows, color, kerning and leading....
Your good to go!
