TMPGenc DV to XVCD

I have been making some quite nice XVCD, 720 x 480, disks from clips on my DV camcorder. Now the clips are filled with artifacts when I encode them. I have checked every setting in TMPGenc and cannot figure out what is causing it. Any ideas or templates that work anyone? I am really frustrated and would appreciate any advice or help that anyone can give.

My standard procedure is to bring the clips in via my 1394 port on my PC. Use TMPGenc to convert the DV to Mpeg1 or 2. Burn to CD with Nero. My XVCDS and XSVCDs have been really good quality until now. I am stumped. Hope someone can help.

Solved my problem but just want to share it in case anyone else runs into it. I uninstalled my registered copy of TMPGenc and then reinstalled and reregistered it. Now I am making perfect mpegs from my DV. I have no idea what this did or why it is working now but it is.

I resolved the problem. I found that I was not using the latest version of TMPGenc. I discovered it when I reinstalled the latest registered version and saw that I had two versions on my machine. The newer registered version has an Mpeg2 encoder in it that does a superb job.
