To All Vegas DVD Trainers

I was sitting around thinking last night, is there a particular reason there is no online/streaming format? It just doesnt make much sense why there isnt online versions available of the various trainings. Production costs are considerably less and some could even charge monthly access or a download fee.

I understand the concern with piracy and hsaring but honestly, whats to stop a user from purchasing a dvd training set and ripping it like they do with major motion pictures?

I would be willing to spend X amount of dollars a year for membership to a site that provided video tutorials that are offered on the regular DVDs. It just seems weird that the various trainers dont maximize their profits or delivery medium (WM9 would be awesome for this.)

Is this even possible for the online user who doesnt wish to mess with DVDs, shipping, etc...?

Note: This is no way a flame or shot. Just a curious inquiry.

While I think it's good idea the only problem I could forsee is a lot of us don't like having our NLE system connected to the Net so you'd need to have another PC so you watch the video while you worked thru things, not a problem for me but others might find it an issue.

Some would say I'm been too noisy <wink>

Seriously, I got involved with a project helping a couple friends out and what was suppose to be a few weeks project turned into several months, so I haven't been posting as much and have been playing catch up. As I mentioned several times I started working on my new web site and stopped (because of time restrains) Then when version 5 of Vegas came out they changed enough things I wanted to upgrade some of the tutorials and write some new ones.

Anyhow, I'm about ready to unveil the new all Flash* site. Instead of trying to finish everything I wanted to have I'm going to do it in stages instead That way if there something really gross nobody likes with the Flash I can still change it before I get so deep it becomes a real pain to change. While I toyed with the idea of making it a subscription site I doubt I will simply because I don't want to get tied to doing X new pages each month to justifity it.

* Baring some unforseen problems I'll probably announce the URL in roughly a week. Since I seem to be a lightening rod for controversy I should mention the site will be very different then you're use to. For started it will be full screen edge to edge of your monitor and instantly allow you to adjust both text size and background color in real time. I kind of like the look, some for sure won't. If I didn't do things differently, I wouldn't be me.

I can see your point but there are some of us that that dont have our DVD players hooked up to our TVs near our computers. Plus it would be easier to ALT-TAB so I could try exactly what I watched.

acid...I agree. I would like some online video training. I'd like to see the VASST training online also.

Any chance we can get Spot or Gary to chime in with their view. Much thanks to BillyBoy for what offers. It would be nice to see what the others have to offer without spending a fortune for the same topics and techniques covered by others.
