Totally OT: Name Change (to dad)

FrigidNDEditing wrote on 2/11/2008, 12:18 PM
Well, I'm so excited I can't stop telling people.

I'm gonna be a father!!

My wife and I just took the 2nd (and 3rd) pregnancy test to confirm it, and they're all positive.

So it looks like it's inevitable now :).

(we were trying but didn't think we'd be pregnant yet since we just finally decided 2 weeks ago :) ).

Well, I have to go tell more people now :)

So are you both pregnant, or just your wife?? :)

(congrats too!)

Kenny, I figure if I keep saying we, then when I look like I'm eating for 2 people won't think I'm just a pig packin it down :P.

Dave,

Congratulations, your life will never be the same! (But that's what you wanted, right?) :)

I'm gonna be a father!!

Congrats!!!

In a short time however, you will begin to understand why it is not a good idea to put the PS3 in the living room. :)

Congratulations Dave,

I had four and never regretted it for a moment.

Congratulations !!

Most important thing for new parents -- when the baby sleeps,
that is NOT the time to clean house etc. Take a nap - it's the
only chance you are going to get :-)

Congrats. Are you going to tape the birth? I had a friend who taped his wife having a cesarean! I think that's going a bit far but I was so involved with my two I never even took a still.

Congrats, Dave!!

Congrats!

There is one thing you can do when the 3AM feeding times start is you sleep
near the baby one night and you swap with your wife the next night.
That way you can get some honest sleep.

Children ARE a real blessing. I have so much fun teaching and learning from
children.

My daughter is just turning 18; I can vividly remember holding her in one hand.

Man, how the time flies.

It's wonderful news, hope everything goes okay...don't want to put a downer on things, but miscarriages can happen, and in fact are fairly common for first pregnancies. So hang in there.

Time to sell the motorcycle and sailboat, and to think about getting a bigger place to live!

Congratulations Dave.
I was never sure if I wanted to be a Dad or not and I thought babies were the ugliest things on this earth but, when the doctor said "here's your new baby girl", one look told me she was the most beautiful baby in the world!!
4 years later we had another girl and I can't imagine my life without them.

Do yourself a favour. Go to a bookstore, buy any book(s) by Robert Munsch and learn just how smart kids really are - and, by contrast, how dumb adults are :-)

From an ol' California Grandpa... CONGRATULATIONS!

You should carry a bizcard-DVD around in your wallet, rather than just still pix!

Hey Congrats!
We just had one as well, four months old and he went on a down-island safari style shoot with us. he did great-loves driving around in the truck on bumpy roads, but now he's starting to roll around and grab stuff so I don't think he'll be near the equipment anymore for a while!

congratulations! :D

Now, hide the PC, the camera, scanner, printer, etc. They're child-mischief magnets. :D

Thanks everyone, been a busy few days, and starting to do lots of reading with my wife on baby and pregnancy etc...

Anyway, I've got an early morning shoot tomorrow, so I'd best get to sleep, have a good one folks. :)
