Track Motion

Ruby888 wrote on 5/13/2020, 5:30 PM

I am having problems animating a image using track-motion, I want to move it across the screen like I did a year ago, to make it move across the video behind it. I used track-motion and placed my courser at the end of the video and moved the image across the track-motion screen and it created a keyframe and it was animated. Now I can NOT get it to work, if I drag the image, it does nothing, no keyframe, no animation. Any help?

Should still work.

Only one keyframe in the track motion? Should be at least 2.

If it isn't automatically keyframing, just press the little button with a diamond and a + next to it to create one. There may be a setting to auto-create keyframes that got turned off or something.

I can't even get one, with sync curser on, it will not animate now keyframes added. What am I doing wrong? I have done this a year ago a few times no problem. I tired in MS 16 and 17 as well Vegas Pro 16 they will not work.

Bingo, YEP that worked LOL, you would not believe the time I spent on this, 2 hours trying to figure this out.

Take a look on the Track motion's timeline cursor of which position on the time right now... If not moving or not sync with the movement of your 'main' timeline's cursor, try turn on and off the sync button.

When recording this I accidentally found a bug that may or may not repeating... haven't try second time, but if that happens to me, it's possible that the bug also happens to you as well.

Thanks for posting that. Question how can you slow the motion super slow? Besides setting keyframes to slow, I used time-stretch on a rendered video to slow the movement as I could not figure out how to do it in Vegas. Yep mine is not setting a keyframe, have to do it manually.

Combine 'time-stretch' with 'insert/remove envelope>velocity' can do.

But in Vegas Pro 17, new plug-in called Slow Motion can regenerate the 'morphing animation' to fill the 'in-between' frames.

I tried that in MS 17 as it has that plugin, but its buggy, it causes distortion, so I used time stretch and it looks good, thanks for your help!! 😁
