I am trying to record the drum track from a MIDI sequence (using Sonar as a MIDI sequencer) and using Vegas 3.0 as the recording software I arm a track to record, start the MIDI sequence and hit record in Vegas. All goes well until playback when the recording sounds distorted. I checked all the meters of record "in" and playback "out" and everything is well under the clipping limit.

When I go to record another track (the bass)on track 2 it records the drums that previously recorded on track 1. I need to be able to hear the previously recorded track without recording it. I have read the docs and it seems like this is covered but it does so in a way that assumes there is something you already know. Can someone put me on the right track. I would be very grateful.
