Transfer footage

Hoping to get some advise here.

I started out with a Sony Digital 8 camera and used Hi 8 tapes. I recently upgraded to a Canon MiniDV camera. I'll be giving the Sony camera to my nephew and have about 25 of the Hi 8 tapes.

Is there an easy way to transfer all the stuff from the Hi 8 tapes to MiniDV tapes??

I would hate to have to capture to computer from the Sony then print back to tape to the Canon.

IF you have a D-8 camera and a Mini DV camera you should be able to run a firewire cable between them and hit play on the D8 and then hit record on the MiniDV and it should transfer. You will need a 4pin to 4pin Firewire cable to do this, they can be found at pretty much any electronics stores for $10-$20

I already have the 4 pin to 4 pin cable which I use with my laptop. I will give it a try. Thanks for the quick response.
