I know this has been posed in the past but I can't find answers using the search function in the forum.

What is the best strategy to back up my default settings and plug ins for Vegas in a machine I am about to retire and tranfer it to a new computer?
I have an external HD that can be used.

Can I copy the plug in and default subdirectories and then paste them into my new Vegas directory?
