Transition length

I am a beginner at this! I'm using still photos and have 2 basic questions about transitions. 1) Is there a way to select a variety of transitions without dragging each one up between each set of stills? One by one, it is taking me a LONG time. 2) When I add a transition, the transition occurs VERY quickly. It takes a long time to find and drag that little icon for each transision. Is there a way to set a default so that I lengthen all (or often used) transitions?

You can select all the photos, drag a transition to the one of the overlaps, and that transition is set for all of them.

The length of the transition is equal to the overlap of the photos. If you want a longer transition make the overlaps bigger.
