Transition Navigation

I've created a DVD with three links on the main menu page: 'Play', 'Scene Selection" and 'Bonus'.

As I learn and get deeper into DVDA, now I want to create a transition for the 'Bonus' link. The transition is a three-second MPEG.

I follow this procedure in the manual:

(1) Drag the transition media file from the Media Explorer (or Windows Explorer) to the root folder in the Project Overview window. Dragging a file to the root folder adds the media to your project without creating a button on a menu.

(2) Set the transition media's end action to link to the menu or title that you want to display after the transition.

(3) Double-click a menu in the Project Overview window (or navigate in the workspace) to open the menu you want to edit.

(4) Select a button.

(5) Set the button action to play the transition media.

(6) When a user activates the button, the button plays the transition media, and the transition media's end action displays the target menu or title.

Everything is fine until step 5, since the 'Bonus' button's action destination is greyed-out and therefore can't select the transition media.

Instead I insert an empty button on the main menu and set its button action destination to the transition. This new button works fine, transition and all, but what do I do with the button I just replaced (the one where the action destination was greyed-out)? If I delete it all the 'Bonus' material gets deleted. So I resized this button as small as possible and buried it so to speak.

Does this workflow make sense (standard practice) or have I missed an important step?
