Transition to Slow Motion

I cut an event and stretched the latter part in order to get slow motion (replay rate = 0.25). The transition from normal replay rate 1 to the second part is abrupt.
Is there a possibility to do a smooth transition from one replay rate to another?

Does Movie Studio have the Velocity Envelope? If yes, use that.

No, it does not - only full Vegas.

Instead og going from normal to slow in one jump try to spilt it up in 2 or 3 short intermediary parts - i.e.: normal - 3/4 speed - 1/2 speed - etc.

Thank you very much. No velocity envelope here, right. So I will use your workaround, this is better than nothing. Transition might be visible, but the overall impression is quite ok.
