Transitions

Hello all....

anyone know how to make a transition between 2 clips in a movie and freeze the last frame of the first clip, and then blend into the second clip which plays on as normal.

i have achieved the effect by copying the last frame and multiplying it many times in an above layer....then fading out the last few frames to simulate fading into clip 2. this is quite tedious, and would like to find a simpler way

How about this: go to the last frame of scene one, and save a screenshot in full preview (best quality). Then insert that image after scene one and make it as long as needed. Enter scene 2, make it overlap with the image, and choose the transition.

Special case ... if it really is the last frame of the clip, not just that you've trimmed the event to end there, you can right-mouse-button click on the event, choose properties, and turn off looping. Then you can simply drag the end of the event out to the right and the last frame will be frozen.

Note that if you had split or trimmed then you'll reveal what you had previously cut out rather than having that frame continue.
