Hello, recently (last three days) , I had an issue where the trial version Vegas Pro 15 crashes at launch on my computer. I get no error messages. Just at 44% of loading the program crashes. I had no error messages at install either. Am not sure what to do.

Hello Nick,

I went through the troubleshooting steps and escalated accordingly. Thank you.

Perhaps I should also call during the hours mentioned on the site?

I reinstalled Vegas Pro and now, though it still crashes at launch, it managed to send a crash report! Hopefully by the next update to the trial version of the software, the bug will be fixed! Awesome.

Just an update. I did contact and speak with Vegas Pro tech support. They said there is nothing they can do at this time. It is out of their ability to get VP to work. However, there is other software out there that does work. If anyone has a similar issue, just keep that in mind.

It could be possible, based on the description, that the sample project is causing the crash. If you delete the sample project, which resides in C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro\15.0\SampleProject and try starting up again, you may be able to avoid the crash. We see this occasionally on machines with some newer AMD cards. The problem should be fixed in the next update. If this isn't the problem, we can continue to try to diagnose the problem.

I added this to those troubleshooting tips (currently #13).

@VEGASDerek

Thank you! It now works. Apart from an annoying message at start-up that says it cannot find the sample project, VegasPro is now functional and I can resume testing. Good instincts by the way, I do have a newish AMD graphics card.

This was exactly my issue with trial version of VP15.

Did not know that is was caused by AMD graphic card...
