Can someone explain, or link to an explanation of, what trimming or shifting by pixel means? Isn't a frame (or field) the smallest unit? Using the shortcuts, the trim by pixel move 3 frames at a time,as far as I can determine.
What they're talking about is one pixel on the editing screen along the timeline. This measurement isn't any particular amount of time, but is dependent upon the zoom level of the timeline. If you're zoomed way out on a long project, a "pixel" could be many frames, many seconds, even a minute or more. If you're zoomed in very close then a pixel might be only a tiny portion of a frame. In the latter case, of course, trim by pixel won't really allow you to meaningfully trim video events in smaller than frame increments.
All it means is that when you perform any "by pixel" movement or operation, it uses whatever amount of time is currently represented by one pixel width of the timeline at the current zoom level.
