My source media file is way too long. I'd like cut-off the last half of the actual file to save hard drive space and make the source file easier to work with.
Drop onto T/L, split where you need it split, delete the bit you don't want and render to a new file, delete the original file. No pixies will get harmed unless it's HDV.
This is the quickest way I know of although I suspect there's a smart utility out there somewhere that'll do a real split without rendering.
