Trimmer: How do I play from cursor to end of region?

linuxlover wrote on 5/31/2004, 12:59 PM
I know how to play an entire region (it stops at the end of the region by itself).
I know how to play from cursor (current position) until I stop it manually.

But how do I tell Vegas (4.0e) to play from cursor (current position) to the end of the region in which the playing begins?

Thanks,
Lynn

No answer means that it cannot be done? Is this feature really not supported in Vegas Video?

Strange - I used to be able to do it with Pinnacle's StudioDV 1.26A which is a much lower end product than Vegas.

You need to SELECT the range you wish to play.

1. Move your cursor ABOVE the timeline until it changes to a double headed arrow.

2. Drag to include the time span you wish, a blue line is drawn.

3. Click on the loop button at the bottom of the tracks area.

4. Click cursor on timeline somewhere within the area selected

You can slide the region back and worth to include less/more.

BB,
I think you've missed what he's asking for. He's created a region but he wants to play from current cursor position to the end of the region and have it stop. The only choices you have that I know of are to either have it loop or else play past the end of the region.
I've kind of wondered about this myself at times.

Bob.

farss, you are correct. I know how to creat regions, name them, play them in a loop, etc.

I cannot however find a way to start playing somewhere near the end of a region so that it stops at the end and NOT play past the end (or loop back). This feature I am l looking for is very useful for tweaking the end of a region without having to play the entire region over and over again (which is time consuming).

Again, I used to have this in StudioDV and I really miss it.

BB and farss - thank you for your replies.
