I've recently started using the trimmer while editing, and I've got a particularly nagging issue. In the Preferences dialog, there is an option that states, and I quote: "Automatically Save Trimmer Markers and Regions with Media File." I have this option checked. Now, when I add trimmer markers and regions, they aren't saved. I can click the little disk drive icon above the trimmer and they save, but if I don't click that, it doesn't save. When I close the project file, I am not prompted to save the trimmer markers and regions. This isn't unique to this particular installation of V4, and it's updated to the most recent version, 4.0d. My question is this: can anybody else verify that checking that box in the preferences dialog really doesn't do anything? I've left it checked and unchecked, and Vegas' behavior seems unchanged. I even went so far as to call Sony MediaSoftware technical support (on my dime, no less) who then told me that no, this wasn't a bug, and yes, this is the way it's supposed to work. I'm faced with two possibilities: 1) the support people at Sony don't really know their (recently acquired) products, or 2) this "feature" really doesn't work. Any ideas?
