Trimmer question

Hi all,

New user here with Vegas Movie Studio. I captured the DV okay from my camcorder. I opened one of the AVI clips in the trimmer. Following the manual instructions from chapter 4, I selected a time segment from within the clip, then selected the main video track, put the cursor where I wanted it, and hit the Add Media from Timeline Cursor button to add the segment to the timeline. It adds the video but not the audio.

The manual says:

"If you select a video track before adding the selection, the video is aded to the selected track and the associated audio is added to the track below it."

It's not happening the way it says it should. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I do all my editing on the timeline, without using the trimmer. So, to try and narrow the problem, do you get the audio if you just drag a clip to the timeline? If it gets there ok, can you split it (by positioning the cursor and typing "s")?

Thanks for the reply, Ian. Actually I started doing it on the timeline, then thought the trimmer was kinda cool.

Anyway, I did figure it out. Once you mark the selection in the trimmer, you have to select it by right-clicking the markers and select the "Select Loop Region" option before dragging it to the timeline.

Thanks
