Trimmer "Save Markers/Regions" - (A Bug?)

marvin-bush wrote on 7/10/2024, 10:46 AM

In Build 314, the markers saved would remain as long as the project was open but wasn't always saved when the project was closed out and reopened. In build 315, the Save Markers/Region option is grayed out. Has this option ever worked correctly and should it be grayed out in Build 315?

This is a option that would be very useful in my workflow referencing the location from which a clip was taken from the main video file. If there is a work-around, any information will be appreciated.

Thanks, mbush

@marvin-bush

Only certain file types will work with Save Markers. Prores and Quicktime I've got to work. And just because it has a .mov extension does not mean it will work.

Intel Core i7 10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz (to 4.65GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GBytes. Memory 32 GBytes DDR4. Also Intel UHD Graphics 630. Mainboard: Dell Inc. PCI-Express 3.0 (8.0 GT/s) Comet Lake. Bench CPU Multi Thread: 5500.5 per CPU-Z.

Thanks Robert.

I'm wondering if the reason the Save Markers/Regions option is grayed out is because that option has been disabled and that there isn't a problem with my Build 315 installation.

Any comment will be appreciated.

@marvin-bush @Robert Johnston I've been playing with this & yes .MOV shows the Save Markers/Region option as available.

Curiously with MP4 AVC that option is greyed out but with MP4 HEVC it is available & works.

Gid, I found the same thing to be true. I imported a Sony XAVC-S - AVC file and opened it in Trimmer and the Save Markers/Regions option was greyed out. I put the clip on the timeline and rendered the clip to a new track in a HEVC format and the Save Markers/Regions option was available for that format. Markers still weren't saved after closing the project and reopening.

Thanks Gid.
