Trimmer Trimmer on my screen, what's the best trim you've seen?

I just have to say that I LOVE the trimmer. Just finished a project, and I've found that something I wrote off as useless when first getting vegas has quickly become one of the greatest tools I've used yet!

I just can't imagine not using it now! It has allowed me to maintain a much cleaner T/L and get my projects finished sooner. (only thing I would like to see is a Graphical representation on the T/L to show me how much space it's going to use on the track, based on my selection length in the Trimmer).

Oh how I love the trimmer!!!

Dave,
While the Trimmer doesn't show selection time on the timeline, the opposite DOES work. Try this;
put two clips on the timeline, have a space between them of any length. For giggles, try for around 10 seconds.
Double click the empty space between the two clips.
Open a file in the Trimmer. Place the cursor at the "IN" point where you'd like the clip to start, and press "A" You'll see that the hole is perfectly filled with what it is you started in the Trimmer. This is "Fit to Fill" editing, and very effective for the docco filmmaker or the case study editor. Set your dialogs with Aroll where you want them in time, ie; creating the rhythm, and then fill all the holes with Broll footage. Then tweak from there.

sounds like that'll do the trick for now. I do hope that I will see them do it so that it would work both ways. I use it for almost the whole project right now. I'm doing work for a place that gives me a Nar. of what they want their vid to say, and I create to fit (unfortunately I usually get the narration so close to the deadline that I end up having to do shooting without a Nar to work from [ almost entirely sometimes - I'm working on breaking them of this habit ] having only a basic understanding of the whole picture at the time of shooting and a small time frame in which to put the (hopefully correctly shot) footage to the Nar. (little venting, but it's done now)

Never the less, the trimmer keeps my T/L so much cleaner that my life is made less stressful just because of how easy to use Vegas is!
