Trimming the middle - frame perfect - Sony Vegas 14 pro

I have a video that I would like to trim the middle out. I need it to be frame perfect so it make a smooth transition instead of a jerky motion showing objects in different places. I know how to use the trim tool but can seem to only export and not delete the middle section. Is there a way to view the starting frame and line it up with the end frame of a video before you cut? Perhaps a side by side screen? I am racking my brain on this, thank you.

If you need to cut a section of video, you can select a clip, press "S" to slice it, place another slice on the other end of the area you want to trim, select the middle part, and press delete. For frame perfect accuracy, zoom in on the timeline until you get to the frame level, and place your cursor on that frame and insert a slice.

Is there a way to see both parts of the tape at the same time so you can tell the images will line up well.

Check the manual for the exact location, but you can set the trimmer and timeline to show every frame in an event.

In the trimmer you can set a region & then select that region too. Then drop\drag that selection to the timeline. Don't forget you can change the start\end of events by dragging the start\end in the timeline, so you don't need to worry about getting it exact when you first put it in the timeline.

Hover your cursor between two events and doubleclick. I think this will give you what you want. Doubleclick again to go to normal edit.
