Trouble importing HD files from Sony FX1 into Sony

I filmed a wedding this past Saturday with my Sony HDR-FX1 in the HDV1080i format. I am having problems capturing the files is my Sony Vegas 6.0. I have changed the properties in the software to 1080-60i. Them I clicked the capture in HD box which opened the internal HD capture field. I picked the appropriate folder to place the files, connected the device (camera). The sotware recognized it. The problem begins when I hit the red/record/capture button. The camera begins the playback but the software freezes evertime. I have a fairly heafty system with 2 gigs of RAM and 500gig harddrive.

Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?
Do I need a better video card?
What should my camera settings be to import the video (i link etc..)

I look forward to an appreciate your help!

Tim, from what you are writing there is no obvious problem.
Please try to capture using HDVSPLIT instead of Vegas and see if that does the job:

With Vegas 6, you will not be happy with HDV - Vegas 6 crashes with 60 or 80 m2t-files, and the preview capabilities for HDV are very poor. You should think about to upgrade to Vegas 7, if you wish to edit HDV with Vegas really.
