Trouble rendering my video

Please help! I've made an anniversary video, and it looks and sounds great in the video making program. the problem is when I try to save it as an .avi or .mpg, the sound is awful .... all jittery. Why won't it play like I'm previewing it?? Is there any other way to save this project?? Please .... ANY advice would be appreciated.

What software are you using? Sound Forge isn't a video editor.

The software is Video Explosion Deluxe by Nova Development.

When you save as AVI, make sure you select the appropriate template (probably NTSC DV). Most likely you used the default template, which renders as uncompressed video. In that case, these files are huge and playback is jumpy because your hard drive can't read up the data fast enough.

When you save as MPEG, again you'll need to make sure you select the appropriate template instead of using the default.
