Trouble with Chapter Marker

Today I am working on my movie that clocks in at about 1 Hour and 50 minutes and am burning it off on DVD Architect 4.5. I used Vegas Pro 8 to do the editing. Everything was going along fine until it had only a few minutes left to burn and it stops with this message: Please Insert chapter marker in title "My film's title" between "54:44.281" and "01:08:22.098"

So I go a head and post a chapter marker in between there and try again. Nothing. I put chapter markers in all the places I need them, one of which falls right in between. Nothing. I typed in the first time and set a marker there. Nothing. I typed in the second number and set a marker. Nothing. Basically I tried every combination to get this to go, but nothing. Also, the message was talking about something called Layer Breaking, but when I looked that up on this website, it came up with no matches so I have no idea what exactly it is or how I am suppose to find it in DVD Architect. What do I do?

It sounds as though you have the project properties set to DVD9 - a double layer disc.

Changing to DVD5 will probably do the trick. (File>Properties>Target media size(GB), change from 8.5 to 4.7)

How do I change them to DVD8? Also, how could they be set to DVD9 when I don't have that program.

Re-read Mike's advice -- he's given you the correct steps. DVD9 is not a program, it's a media type, aka dual-layer.

You have to go into DVD-A's project properties and change the media type to "4.7" if it's currently set to 8.5

Last night when trying to fix this problem I ended up have to restart my computer, but during that process it came across some problem and now all of my programs and files are gone. I have Vegas Pro 8 and DVD Architect 4.5 loaded back on, but my video file is now gone, so it will take me a little while to get that pieced together before I can give Mike's idea a shot. Before I trying burning it again, do I set that before I start burning or wait until such a message pops up again.

Also, I just went into DVD Architect a few minutes ago and checked the Target Media Size and right now it is set at 4.70. My file was around 6.9 GB, so I had to use a 8.5 GB disc if I was going to get it all to fit. If I set the Target Media Size to 4.7, won't that cut off part of my project. Also, since my project is under two hours, why won't it fit on a two hour disc and how is it getting up to 6.9 GB?

The length of your video is nothing to do with whether it'll fit on a single layer DVD - it's what you've encoded it to. To get it to fit, you either need to encode at a much lower rate, or shrink it with DVD Shrink (Free programme). Failing that, it's either 2 discs, or a dual layer DVD. The 'layer break' is where the DVD player's laser changes to the next layer of the DL disc. All commerical DVD's have it. Ever noticed that little pause in a film?

Yes I have noticed a little pause. So, when I am rendering the project, I should do it at Good Quality instead of Best Quality to get the rate down? Would that work at all or am I missing the mark? Also, if I do it at Good Quality how much difference is that going to make on how it looks/performs when I am playing it on a DVD player?
