True STROBE FX ?

PolDavril wrote on 6/30/2019, 2:18 AM

Hi,

I'm using an older version Vegas 9.

Is there any FX plug-in available (maybe third party) to create a true Strobe FX ? Not a "light" strobe as explained on some tutorials.

I mean : a classic strobe FX that freezes frames during a given time, as I could find on hardware video mixers (Panasonic WJ-MX50 for example).

Thanks.

@PolDavril - Hi, do you want to, for example, to remove every other or “x” number of frames and have the remaining frames prolong for “n” number of seconds? I’ll bet there’s a Script for that? I’ve got John Rofrano’s MAYHEM. I’ll bet I can do it with that.. Hmmm interesting.

Here i use the Stroble Light Effect of the Vegasaur. With it you simply select the area you want to apply the effect set the parameters and apply. Vegasaur is provided with 30-day trial period. During this time you can try all its features and decide if you really want to buy it.

As you use Vegas Pro 9.0 then you will have to download version 1.9.8 which is the version of Vegasaur compatible with the Vegas you use.

Thanks.

I have just found what I was looking for : the Pixelan CreativEase pack.

It contains the StepTime plugin which has several parameters to create the effect.

@PolDavril - Wow, now that’s a name from the Archives. OK, I look at their extensive range of VFx but I’m not seeing a Strobe in StepTime? I think my in-house VegasPro solution delivers better results. However, thanks for reminding me of a companies output, and my, how those prices have dropped, I’m almost tempted. 🥴
