Trying to edit Vegas files created in v6. Strange error/bug.

This is a longshot that goes out to old timers here...

My project involves the re-rendering of several VEG's that were created in version 6. Back then the files were rendered at 16/44 to be used for a pressed CD. Now I need to go back and re-render the songs at the resolution they were recorded (16/48). The first thing I did was open the VEG files in my current version of Vegas (17), however I get an error that a plug-in (FreeverbTooDX) can not be found. No surprise, that is a 16 bit DX plugin and I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. however, I couldn't figure out how to load the 16 bit plug in so that the old VEG files would see it so I reinstalled the final version of Vegas 6. The VEG files open fine and I'm able to do what I need to do. The problem I'm having is EVERY TIME I close out a Track FX window, my web browser opens to this Microsoft support page:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/error-opening-help-in-windows-based-programs-feature-not-included-or-help-not-supported-3c841463-d67c-6062-0ee7-1a149da3973b

What a hassle!

Is this a known thing? What is the best way to work on old VEG files that utilize 16 bit DX plug ins?

'Some' 32 bit Direct X (DX) plug-ins will not run in 64 bit Vegas and Sound Forge. In my case, the Ultrafunk DX suite. 32 bit DX plugs will however run on the 32 bit versions of Magix Sound Forge (12>15) which can be integrated with VP if you happen the have SF.
