Trying to screen capture in Vegas - Image is distorted?

Hi everyone,

I am apart of a team in a project studio and I am trying to make a how to video for a couple of my members so they can see how to do certain things for a project we are working on. When I try to capture my screen using the generica PiP Monitor inside Vegas capture, it looks all distorted (attached picture).

The only thing I can think that maybe causing this is the fact that I have an Ultrawide monitor. My screen ratio is 21:9 instead of the standard 16:9. Could this be the reason? Is there a way to fix this issue? I have tried combing through some settings and can't seem to find anything about it.

Thanks in advance.

@Liberty610 I have a nonstandard 32:9 monitor and it doesn't do this. Try updating the video driver.

I have an RTX 2080TI with the latest Nvidia Studio driver. And it has done this with every driver version I have had since upgrading to Vegas 18 last year. I had another app I was using for screen recording, but my license expired for that so I wanted to get this resolved so I could use Vegas for my screen recording.

@Liberty610 Hi, not a fix but could you try Nvidia Geforce Experience, that has a screen recorder, i only use that one, i don't use the Vegas one https://www.nvidia.com/en-me/geforce/geforce-experience/

@Former user Thanks! I had the in-game overlay turned off, but it seems to do a really good job.

@Photo_G 👍 Alt+F9 to record, Alt+F1 to screen capture a pic, easy peasy 👍
