I tried using the Tsunami video wall using still photos imported into vv4d and couldnt get it to work. Does the aspect ratio of the stills need to be specified before being imported in vv4d?? Is that the problem?? JOHN
Im using an Epson 1670 scanner with its software...and it doesnt let you set aspect ratio and I dont have photoshop...is there a way to do this in vegas 4e so I can use the wall?? If not... I dont want to purchase Tsunami..because thats what I really want it for ...Thanks for your help ..As you can see Im a newbie to this..JOHN
What you need to do is just about the most basic thing that you must be able to do if you are going to be doing any work with images at all.
Pretty much any basic photo editing software will allow you to alter the size (and crop) an image. Just use the Microsoft Photo Editor or some other editor to do this.
The video wall merely plays the whatever is loaded into the tracks in Vegas. This content can be a still image (stretched to a specific length of time) or a regular bit of video.
Johnbl, I found out today, with stills, the easiest way to go, is just use track motion (for however many tracks) and then you can use pan/crop to crop the stills. This came to me after several frustrating hours of resizing the stills (in another app) to work with Tsunami. The really cool thing about it though is that I discovered a really neat effect: I put up 4 tracks of stills, clicked the cursor at about one third of the duration on one of the clips, clicked pan/crop, zoomed/cropped, clicked the next pan/crop (without moving the cursor) and again zoomed/cropped,etc with all tracks. On playback, the brady bunch effect windows simultaneously start and end the zoom/crop together for a nice effect. I was dealing with close to 300 stills to use in a slide show and once the tracks were set it weny very quickly ( don't forget to use "match aspect" before zoom/cropping). I'm still anxious to use Tsunami with video, but for stills, I highly recommend giving this process a try.

Video Wall uses Pan/Crop to resize the images so the image needs to be the proper size initially - as stated 655x480 for NTSC. OR you could use Pan/Crop to correctly size the image and then take a snapshot or render a short video. It was really designed to be used with video instead of stills.
Video Wall cannot use Track Motion (or it would) because Track Motion is not accessible via scripts.
If you use Video Wall on video clips, the clips will continue to play their video as you would expect.
Video Wall was broken in 4.0e (as well as PIP and Rotating Pic) but I have a fix. I'm trying to get it posted onto the Zenote site so everyone that needs it can easily download it. If you need it now, e-mail me proof of purchase (i.e. serial # or order #) and I'll send you a download link.
