We are wandering into CROSS Forum chat here . . going to take to Scripting Forum . . just to say I can't make the script function. Copy and pasted into Notepad and saved as a JS - yes?

JM? I just tried the right<>left arrow and then play - Cursor STILL captured by LOOP region.

Eh? What am I doing wrong?

I have no idea. I thought you had the loop playback turned off and just wanted to defeat the loop region. I guess I was wrong. What I suggested works. My script works.

I'm afraid you're on your own on this one ...

Thanks John.

I'll have another go in the morning.

Please excuse me if this has nothing to do with your problem but...

I always make sure to enable "Collapse loop region when no time selection is present" in the Vegas preferences>editing. The default is unchecked which I do not like because everytime the playback enters a loop region (with loop playback enabled) the curser gets caught in the region. Unchecked and Vegas works great for me.

make a feature request to have a toggle between "loop region/location markers". Then, say, for example, press "O" & it cancels the loop but keeps the location marker lines @ the in/out points so you can see where things are on the TL.

Kind of like a temp region.

How about a keypress to "deselect all". Seems like a nice companion to "Select All" and it would do the trick.

My gawd, I am replying ten years after the fact and it still is not on anyone's priority list, but hamburger menus, yes sir, that is what we need, how bout a hot dog menu and a coffee menu as well, but turn off looped section so you can play through while your assessing your flow after a loop or two, that, nope, we can't do that.

Grazie, this one has also driven me nuts, you are an "interactive" editor, apparently, as am I, and you like to grab a piece of the timeline watch it play, maybe loop, and then continue the action down the timeline. ..in real time, why stop, re set up, now the flow is gone.....I swear, these folks don't know how good of an editor this actually "COULD BE" but is not, and maybe never will be, there is no fire here, zero.........how hard is that for some people to dig??? I don't f'g get how that is just not an obvious, "of course" it would probably take two seconds to program, people all over the internet are asking for the same, like me, I looked. This obliqueness here as to the interactive jewel that "should be" Vegas keeps shooting itself in the damned foot. I kind of wish Magix would jump in and make some of this happen. The devleloper's seemed to have lost the passion, sadly.

@zdogg : Yeah. “Yah want pickle yah got pickle” and yes, getting the Movie errrr... MOVING is the thing for me. And yes, sometimes it can be languid and slowly allowing the viewer to be lead to another part of the Narrative.

@zdogg: Do DO grab a copy of WalterApocolyse NowMurch’s “Blink of an Eye”. This makes real what you and I want from editing.
