Hi,
Just a note to any doubters out there. Just got through exploring Avid xpressDV.
All $1800 dollars of the PowerPack! Nice colours on the interface. Took FOREVER
to get going. Very frustrating. Manual like a phone book! Opened up the Vegas
Beta again. The sense of awe I originally felt when I saw VV 3.0 came back.
My god, this thing is powerful. And if you have Sound Forge 6.0 also! People
just have to realize that Avid/ Premiere/ Final Cut, are based on an outmoded
working methodology, based on the way things used to be done 20 years ago. They
are computer duplications of the old film flatbed/ VTR setups. One can see that
Sonic Foundry have just skipped ahead, and assumed that computer savvy folks
would be happier in a newer, slicker, "cut and paste" world. How is it that the
digital guru Scott Billups doesn't seem to know about Sofo. No mention on www.
pixelmonger.com! Oh, well. I hope SoFo stay around long enough to develope a
future Vegas that handles HiDef, when the cameras come down to earth in price.
OK, back to look at the beta test... <M>
