turning the selection to an image. on/off

I'm wondering how to change the selection to a pair of shoes. All it would need to be is a still image but I want it to turn on when the clip that I want is selected. I would like for it to show up below the clip for each of the two clips I have linked to the main page. I guess the main problem isn't adding the shoes it's getting them to turn off when they aren't selected.

Do you have a font editor?

There was a great thread about using text that is the same color as the background.
Using a Font edtor you could create a shoe shape for a certain letter of the alphabet.
When it is not selected it would be transparent and show up as any color you want
when highlighted.
