Tutorial for video featuring?

Hi folks, wondering if anyone can tell me, or point me to a tutorial or link, that describes how I can feature someone in a video. For example, if I have a video of a Christmas play with several kids on the stage, can I somehow draw a red outline, circle, or some way to identify which child is my own?  I am using Vegas movie studio 9. Thanks

Easiest way is to go into Photoshop or GIMP, draw a red circle or arrow, export as a .png file, then import into Vegas and place on its own video track. From there, you should be able to use the Pan and Crop tool to position and resize the circle or arrow to identify your child. The key is making sure your .png image has a transparent background. Unfortunately, Vegas doesn't have any drawing tools.

I have designed my own font which contains various pointers and arrows specifically for the use in videos. And I just use one of the text generator plug-ins that come with Vegas to place any of the arrows wherever I want.

Feel free to click on the above link and download the font. It is free with no strings attached..

A good way to do this is to dim the background and highlight the portion of the image that you want people to see.
