TV output question

Hi all.

This is probably a stuipid question, but I'm looking at
buying a new video card for my PC. I'm looking at the ATI
Rage Fury Pro video card that has a TV output along with
the standard 15 ping SVGA connector. I still wanna play
games, ya know? But, I'm wanting to just hobby around with
this video stuff, so I don't need, or want to spend money
on a high end video card.

In Vegas Video 2.0b, can I view the video window on the TV
output of the ATI card rather than on the normal computer
monitor? If not with this card, is it possible at all with
another video card?

Thanks,
Ron

OHCI DV cards can be had for less than $100. Run video from those
cards to a DV camera, then out to a TV - looks great, cheap option.

Ron, I've had this exact same question a while now and was also
looking into the same ATI card. I believe that card has an analog TV
out? I do sfx work for short AVI's using Vegas and thought this
would be a great thing if I could run the TV output, and locate the
TV near my client for their viewing and keep them away from my
computer monitor and work area. Seems kind of a waste to buy a DV
camera and use it for a converter box. I haven't priced DV cameras,
but this doesn't seem like a cheap solution to me. So has anyone
else tried this video card for this purpose where it outputs to a
computer monitor and TV at the same time? Or can anyone recommend a
Video card which is supported by Vegas and has this functionality.

Hi Dave.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't own a DV camera, so
that option would be more expensive than $100 for me.

Would the ATI Rage Fury Pro card still work for me using the TV out
on the ATI card?

Thanks,
Ron

If it is Direct-show compatible, yes. Check this link for more info:
