Two questions -- One about zooming text, one about file formats

I'm trying to create a regular NTSC video (720x486) and all I far is some dust moving around (created with particle illusion), with some text on top of it. (2 layers, one for the background dust, one for the movie title).

I have my movie title zoomed VERY far out and then it slowly (within 2-3 seconds) zooms in closer. The problem is that when the movie zooms in, you can see a ton of jagged edges around my text. When the zooming stops, the text is *very* crisp looking.

I'm using generated text with a big font size. How can I get very crisp zooming in/out with text?

My other questions is about file formats. I'm trying to save my video as "uncompressed" and it appears to render correctly, but my final .avi file stutters and has lots of problems trying to play. I just defragged my hard drive (I have two of these: IBM DeskStar 40 GB, 7200 RPM).

If I use Huffyuv (which I believe is lossless) it renders and plays OK, but I still have the jagged text problem.

Try blurring a little the background, and deinterlacing the text. possibly is an issue with the back and the text due to little pixelation on the dust.

Also, I think artifacts produced by size changing is one reason to set rendering to "best" instead of "good", if you haven't already.

And maybe add a touch of Motion Blur.

The stuttering on playback is quite common with uncompressed files. Uncompressed AVI is about 8 times the size of of DV AVI and it's very difficult for even the fastest computers to play this back in real time. There are just too many bits to read from the drive and push through the system.

What format should I use then if I don't want to compress it? (I want the highest quality possible)

Also, as for the text. I am rendering at the "best" quality setting. I'll try blurring the background but I wish I didn't have it. The background won't look as crisp... Also I'm not sure how to deinterlace the text...

On the text click right and on the switches check reduce interlace flicker.

Hmmm, that was already checked.
