Typical response time from (free) Sony Support?

I entered a support request to Sony 3-4 weeks ago and they still haven't responded. This isn't the first time they've taken a LOT of time to address a support question. I had an issue when I first bought Vegas and when weeks went by, I called Customer Service (since “free” Support doesn't have a published number) and was basically told "we'll get to it when get to it." The experience pissed me off so much that I called the Presidents office of Sony and complained about the bad experience. Incredibly, when the President’s office called the Sony Vegas area, they were told the same thing! The Executive Assistant apologized and literally sent me a check for the dollar equivalent of a call to their paid support line.

This Forum is incredible with a lot of good answers, but does Sony (free) Support basically ignore customer inquiries now?
