UAC Won't Allow Burning StevenBell wrote on 8/24/2010, 10:50 AM I have found that the User Access Control feature of Windows 7 is the reason why my CD/DVD burner acts like a ROM device. I have to completely turn off UAC in order to use it for burning. Does anyone know how to just turn off this feature for the burner? Steven Back to post

Windows is now very picky about system level access (and that includes writing to recoradble media). Way to go Microsoft. 1
