Hi can i ask what version of the uad software your using

UA have made a few changes over the last year or so to the way the software runs with the uad 2 card taking over from the uad 1

its sounds to me like a issue with comunication between the 2nd card and the system when vegas 7 loads

try looking at the services which are running when V7 is running compared to when SF8 is running

make sure you have the lastest version of the service pack installed

have you checked the system settings on the card its self both cards have to be set the same,

the other thing to try is rolling back the drivers on the uad

there are so many things which can bring up issues with dsp cards
things like the time delay comp system maybe set wrong for running 2 cards within V7

i would try starting a new session in V7 then as soon as you have a blank timeline go to your uad card status viewer on the desktop and see what its saying about the 2 cards

are they coming up as ok and that the delay sample is set the same for both cards

normally i would expect this to be a form of buffer problem where the 2 cards are trying to do things against the asio settings with the system

im use winXP, one UAD1 card on board, no second card
latest drivers and service packs
error 30 only in V7, energyXT - CUbase - Acid Studio trial - Renoise and SF9 works fine
Vegas9 Pro trial give me a memory error 3. so if i upgrade to V9 the problem is accour again.

the err=30 is a common one on the uad 1 cards with the likes of sonor and other editors

when you get this error does it stop the plug ins from running or is
it not letting you open the veg file at all

it is a buffer problem with asio within your system which will be causing thisa to happen

you say it only happens in vegas

this kind of points to the track buffing being to small for the uad card
the uad 1 runs around 1024 samples latency which audio terms is a big gap,

so if your buffer settings are not right only needs to be by a tiny amount it will bring up conflicts with the uad card as the audio wont
be arriving back when vegas expects too

now you say you are using V7 now i cant remember if that version gives you option to change the track buffering

V9 does have TDC system within it,im not sure if it would understand such a large sample delay as the uad 1has,

i have a pro tools hd rig with uad cards and even that is not spot on with time delay issues with uad 1 the uad 2 are fine no probs,

so try the demo of V9 and check the audio device settings and try a few things within there like upping the track buffer then try switching off the auto detect time delay and setting this manualy

the amount you need to set this to is in the monitor section of the uad planel on your desktop,it will tell you how much latency the system has,

the other area to check is with your audio device and if that is running the right buffers for the uad to run
