Ultimate S2 2.1 for Vegas 5 is now available

Vegas 5 users can now download the trial and purchase Ultimate S2 2.1 from the VASST web site. Existing Ultimate S2 customers do not have to download this upgrade unless you also have Vegas 5 and want to use Ultimate S2 with it. There is no added functionality for Vegas 6 users. I had to change the way GrafPaks work for Vegas 5 so if Vegas 6 users do download this, you will also need the new US2Xtras file that goes with it. Just change the filename in the email you received from xxx-2.0.zip to xxx-2.1.zip and download the Xtras update. No need to uninstall, just re-install over what you have.

Just to be clear, there is no reason for Vegas 6 users to download this update. It is exactly what you already have with added Vegas 5 support.

For Vegas 5 users, the functions that don’t work with Vegas 5 are still on the GUI but are grayed out. This includes Import Nested Projects, Save Nested Projects, and several of the Special FX. Everything else works the same with the exception of Lower Thirds which are not animated in Vegas 5 (but are animated in Vegas 6)

I just bought and installed Ultimate 2 for vegas 5. One of the selling points was the 50 lower thirds but I can only find 10. Where are the other 40?

One of the 10 is very usable but I need to change its color - how do I do that?

Thanks,

Tony

Tony, Thanks for purchasing Ultimate S2. You should have gotten a link to the US2Xtras package in the same email that had your license key. Download and install that package and you’ll have all of the lower thirds as well as 25 new audio presets for the new iZotope plugin. If you can’t find that email just email me and I’ll get it to you.

In Vegas 6 you would just right-click on the lower third and select Edit Source Project and you would be editing the lower thirds because it’s a nested VEG file. Unfortunately, Vegas 5 doesn’t support nested projects so you can’t change a lower third the same way. (sorry, its a limitation of Vegas 5)

Thanks, that will teach me to be too excited to read down to the bottom of the e-mail!

I downloaded and installed the additional grafpaks and they show up in the right folder but when I open Ultimate 2 I get a message that grafpak's 1 and 2 returned no data and asking me to check my license key. In the grafpack folders I found a license installer so I ran it for both grafpak's and it recognized and accepted my license but I still get the message when I open Ultimate 2 and now there are no lower thirds at all.

I have to go to a shoot now so I'll have to try and debug it later.

Tony,

It sounds like you did all the right stuff. If you had Ultimate S2 licensed already, the GrafPaks should have picked up that license. Make sure you are entering in your Ultimate S2 license key. You may have to exit and restart Vegas since Vegas 5 does lot unload the script DLL’s until it exists.

If you are still having problems after that, send us an email (ultimatesupport at vasst dot com) and we’ll work with you on fixing this.

Thanks JohnnyRoy, not only love it but as a bonus it kicks the snot out of Excailbur, kinda makes me feel squishy inside.

Thanks Johnny, I've sent the e-mail. I've even tried uninstalling and re-installing but still no lower thirds, not even the original 10.
