Unable to customize bitrate for MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 format

Hello. I'm running into a bug when rendering using MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 format.

I am using Vegas Pro - build (216)

In the Render As settings In customize template tab under the Audio tab I am trying to set the bit rate (bps) to 384,000.

But after I render the audio. I check the properties of the file and it reads it as 195kbps or 192 kb/s in MediaInfo. No matter what I set the bit rate to it does not change after the render.

My Sample rate (Hz) is 48,000. If I change this it changes my Bit rate after the render to these.

At 44,100 my bit rate is 182kbps or 180 kb/s in MediaInfo (plays back Audio)

At 32,000 my bit rate is 132kbps or 132 kb/s in MediaInfo (Does not playback Audio)

At 24,000 my bit rate is 99kbps or 98.9 kb/s in MediaInfo (Does not playback Audio)

At 64,000 my bit rate is 264kbps or 265 kb/s in MediaInfo (Does not playback Audio)

At 88,200 my bit rate is 364kbps or 353 kb/s in MediaInfo (Does not playback Audio)

At 96,000 my bit rate is 396kbps or 384 kb/s in MediaInfo (Does not playback Audio)

My Encode mode is: Intel QSV.

Using Encode mode: Mainconcept AVC I do not have this problem. But my audio wont play only at anything above 48,000 (Hz)

Why can't I customize the audio bit rate of MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 file format with Intel QSV on?

My first comment would be, there is no reason to use a 384kb audio rate for stereo audio. But my second comment is, does your soundcard support those other sample rates? Those first numbers are sample rates and you do not want or need anything above 48k (48,000)

I mentioned this issue re: video data rates and QSV and Nvenc encoding. The rates may be fixed, perhaps its that the asics can only do discrete audio and video data rates, or Magix hasn’t opened them up properly.

If its the former then Magix could clarify for us. For example I found SD 720 x 576 never goes over about 12mb/s even if you decide to raise the rate in the render template. Of course it could be argued that why would you need more for SD, but clarification on this asic data rate stepping would be helpful.

I may not need or want, 384kb 48k/96k. That's really for every the creator decide if they want or need it. But, If they happen need it, and change the options to let's say 128kb or 96kb, the tool is not functioning as intended.

Thanks, I think your right. the rates may be fixed or is not opened properly when using OSV. I also noticed that you can't customize any rendering templates for the AAC Audio format as well.

Work around: encode the audio using a third-party encoder and mux in the audio. I usually render a video only file then add the audio later after a mastering session in Sound Forge.
