Unable to Open Vegas Program Due to Error Messages

Darlene-Lam wrote on 1/20/2026, 11:52 PM

Hi, I have officially purchased the Vegas program from the MAGIX website and now cannot even open the program. First, a window pops up asking me to "Activate and Register immediately online". Once I click on that, another window pops up with the message: "This serial number has already been registered to another email address. Please contact MAGIX support. Error code: 24"  After I close this window, another Error message appears that states: "An error occurred starting VEGAS Pro. There is no license to use this software."

I only have ONE email address registered with Vegas. I have sent Customer Support THREE emails over the past 8 days and have not received any reply from a real human, just AI automated responses.

I've even Uninstalled and Re-installed the Vegas program - but the problem stays.

I paid US$189.99 for the Vegas program, I have a Serial Number, and yet, cannot even open the program.

This is the Order #: Your order number is:  20251221017584494MXC

I'll gladly provide the Serial Number if that could help resolve the problem.

This is not something I can fix on my end.

Please Help, Thank You in advance!

Darlene

Hi Darlene, a frustrating situation.

Presumably you got your serial number in an email. Try copying it from there and pasting rather than typing in.

With your email address make sure you aren't accidentally including anything extra such as a space.

@EricLNZ Hi Eric, Thank You for your suggestions. The Serial Number auto-populates, so no typing is needed. My email address is simple, that’s not the problem. It’s the Activation that needs to be done on the Administrator’s end or that it is a technical system error. Would it be possible to receive another older version of Vegas that works? The version I purchased was Vegas 23 I believe. Thank You for your response!

Darlene

The Serial Number auto-populates

It might seem strange but check it's the correct number. Did you initially have a trial version?

It's the correct Serial Number.

@Darlene-Lam  ... it's not a good idea to upload personal information such as a serial number because this forum is a public user-to-user forum and your VP serial number is now available to anybody in the world accessing the forum who might want to misuse the serial number. When uploading screen shots, it is usual to first use an image editor to blur/obscure serial numbers. email adresses and the like.

@Dexcon Yes Dexcon, I agree, I just don't know how else to show Eric what I am seeing. Once I get a reply from Eric that he understands what the issue is, I will delete the message. Thank You for your advice, I appreciate it.
(There's no option to remove the image, I would have to delete the whole message.)

@Darlene-Lam You show your email address as Team.V.R.@ukr.net. Is that really your email address?

That address immediately sounds alarm bells as follows from a Bing internet search:

@Darlene-Lam Are you sure that is your correct email address that is below your serial number?

Darlene-Lam wrote on 1/22/2026, 11:51 AM

@EricLNZ Eric, you’ve solved the problem! No, that is not my email address. The window pops up already filled exactly how I showed it. After entering my email, everything works. Sending you a virtual Big Bouquet of Daffodils! A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU ERIC! God Bless! 🌼🌼🌼

@Steve_Rhoden Hi Steve, no it’s not my email, the window pops up pre-filled as is. Thank You for pointing it out. Have a Blessed day Sir!

@Darlene-Lam Glad you got it resolved....Just make sure don't use that email for anything from here on out.

@Steve_Rhoden I won’t, Thank You Sir!
