unable to record new tracks in Vegas platinum 9.0b

The software arms the recording, but track is flat and no sound. I can record in any other program, including Sound Forge. Disabling my antivirus (BitDefender 2010) does nothing.

Have you gone to Options/Preferences and checked the audio configuration to see if it's set up to read your audio input?

How is your microphone connected? Through your sound card? USB?
